For the first 2/3 of the ride we managed to stay together. Hitting Winlock we started to split due to pace and some folks not wanting to do the entire 100. Creel peeled off at his house in Adna, and Robcat, Marc and I finished together with an 18.2 mph for the 99 mile distance. Bethel church made for a much better start/finish facility vs Stan Headwall! According the Optimist Club's registrar Mazie Schlickheiser, they had 100 preregistrations and an additional 25 day of ride registrations. The Cowlitz Prairie Grange made for a dbl stop on the 100 mi route, with no more Mary's Corner Church stop and no more stop at the St.Francis Mission. Noticeable were several women riding groups.
A lot of our regulars had time conflicts today, missing especially our two energizer bunnies of Scott & Ted, our steady pace setter Ruben and our riding apparel consultant Amos! Did I miss anyone? Good to see some new faces in the group. Heat and wind was somewhat trying, yet not annoying. And yes, the cold beer after the ride tasted as good as ever!

Great to join everyone again today. Fantastic day for a ride. I was in the group that backed off a little bit there near the end, I can report that we dialed it down a bit and still finished the century at an average pace of 17.1 mph. Thanks to everyone for letting us all hang around as long as we were able to.
Couple of the members of the group are part of my Sunday ride squad and it was nice to have them with us (Matt and Jacoby).
Also a big congrats to Chris D who achieved his first-ever century today. Finished very strong and did great on the home stretch.
